About Us

Dragon Amateur Radio Club will turn 40 years old in 2024, having previously been a Citizens Band (CB) Club. Through fun, friendship and experimentation, we encourage members to explore all that the amateur radio hobby has to offer. We run regular club nights on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month and all other Monday evenings we run club NET nights.

Club nights are varied and include a mixture of talks, discussion, demonstrations and practical's covering many aspects of this diverse hobby, from construction, transmission modes, contesting, portable operating, the latest developments in software defined radio (SDR) and much more.

We hold regular outdoor operating events including VHF activity days, entering radio contests as a club and running several special event stations throughout the year from various locations around Anglesey and Gwynedd. All members, including the very newest are actively encouraged to join in and improve their operating skills.

Dragon ARC has an active, experienced, friendly and successful Training Team, offering regular training courses for all three levels of amateur radio licence, namely Foundation, Intermediate and Full. Details about each licence level and future training courses can be found under the 'Training Courses' menu tab.

Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of the month.

Doors open at 6:30pm for 7:30pm prompt start. We often have a Club HF set on the air for newly licensed amateurs to gain experience with from 6:30pm for 7:30pm.
