A warm welcome to all our members and visitors to the Dragon Amateur Radio Club
Website, we hope you find our site interesting and consider joining our club.
The Dragon ARC has been in existence for over 30 years when it changed from a CB club in 1984. We aim to cater for all aspects of amateur radio and over the years our dedicated team of Instructors has helped over a hundred candidates obtain passes in the Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Examinations. We meet twice a month and have a mix of interesting talks and general discussion. We have a comprehensive range of equipment including transceivers, antennas and a mobile shack. Club members regularly take part in contests and special events and newer members are encouraged to join in and improve their operating skills.
Meetings are held on the first and third Monday of the month.
Doors open at 6:30pm for 7:30pm prompt start. We often have a Club HF set on the air for newly licensed amateurs to gain experience with from 6:30pm for 7:30pm.
Club meetings are held at the Ebenezer Church Hall, Lon Foel Graig, Upper Village, Llanfairpwll, Ynys Mon/Isle of Anglesey LL61 5RX.
Yaesu FTdx3000. The new kid on the block....
Our new transceiver which received it's first serious use at GB2VK at Waunfawr, and then at GB100MCV (RMS Leinster event) at the Sea Cadets Building in Holyhead (Oct 2018).
Yaesu FT990. "Old Faithful"
30 years old and still going strong. Defying the doom & gloom merchants (spare parts!!!) and providing excellent service, and a superb starting point for many a member being introduced to a HF rig for the first time.
Menus? What menus ....?
